SharePoint Update
Your SharePoint library is about to change
If you haven’t seen the new document library experience yet, it will be rolling out soon.
Microsoft is updating the SharePoint document library, and many organisations will start seeing the new experience over the coming months. At first, it just looks cleaner and more modern. But the real change is how Microsoft expects you to work with your files. The future of SharePoint is less about folders — and more about views, filtering, and search. Quick Tip of the Week
Save a view for the way you work
If you regularly look for the same type of files, create a filtered view (for example: “My Documents” or “Approved Files”) and set it as your default. When the library opens, you’ll see exactly what you need — no folder searching required. This update is part of a bigger shift happening across Microsoft 365. SharePoint is no longer just a place to store files. It’s becoming the foundation for search, collaboration, and now AI. And here’s the important part: AI and Copilot don’t organise your content. They use whatever structure already exists. If files are duplicated, stored in the wrong place, or hard to find today, that confusion doesn’t go away — it just shows up faster.
